Washburn Island Clean-Up Weekend
Join us on Saturday, April 25th (Rain Date: Sunday, April 26th) as we have families out cleaning the ditches and parks of Washburn Island. (Specific date and time to be announced later).
Supplies (gloves for adults and kids, garbage bags) will be supplied, and all garbage will be collected and brought to the Lindsay Ops landfill. Where possible, we will be recycling all cans & bottles, and returning empties to help raise funds for the Little Britain Community Food Bank.
Help keep Washburn Island clean, and one participating family will win either 4 tickets to a Toronto Blue Jays game, or 4 tickets to Ripley’s Aquarium in Toronto.

Washburn Island Free Hot Meal Delivery
Neighbours helping neighbours. On Sunday, April 12, we’ll be delivering up to 200 free hot meals to residents in the Washburn Island area in support of the Little Britain Community Food Bank. Each meal includes a pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, mac & cheese, and a dessert.
Meals are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Santa’s visit to Washburn Island returns December 19, 2025. Please note the date is now Saturday, December 20th, 2025!
Rosie's Road Halloween Walk
Come stroll the setups from 16–28 Rosie’s Road and enjoy a spooky walk filled with glowing decorations, creepy characters, Halloween spirit, and of course… yummy treats!
Washburn Island's Pumpkin Carving Contest
Washburn’s First Pumpkin Carving Contest is on for 2025: Pumpkins and child-safe carving kits will be delivered, parents submit photos and voting will be done by our Facebook group. Free to enter with prizes by age group!
Washburn Island's Kid Movie Night Under the Stars
Outdoor Movie Night hosted by one of Washburn Island’s Neighbours on Friday, September 20 (rain date: Thursday, September 19) on a large open lot.
Bring a blanket or sleeping bag for the kids, and camp chairs for parents. Movies will begin around 7:30 PM with a double feature: the first movie will be perfect for younger kids, followed by one for the older kids.
This is a free event! Popcorn, drinks, and snacks will all be provided.
We hope to see lots of families out for this one!

Meet your neighbours at our first-ever Island-wide Community BBQ, being held at Washburn Park behind the pump house on 22 Verna Dr. Free hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks. Kids games — bring a camp chair and get to know your community!
