Washburn’s Pumpkin Carving Contest

The Washburn Island Pumpkin Carving Contest drew a fantastic turnout and some wildly creative designs. Laim was the community favourite in the 6 & under category with “Purple Monkey Dishwasher”; Sophia (“Glowing Jack”) and Sam (“Tootles the Turtle”) tied for top spot in ages 7–12; and Jay won ages 13–17 with “Spencer”. For the overall categories, Mya earned Funniest Pumpkin with “Frankengourd”, while Parker won Scariest Pumpkin with “Jaquay Wavy jingle John the third” and also received the most votes overall. Each category winner received a $50 gift card (with both tie winners awarded), runners-up received $25, and Parker also took home a $20 McDonald’s gift card for the overall vote lead.
